June 26 (WTN)- The trailer of Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold is out. The movie is sports drama film of pre-independence era drama inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal. The film is set in backdrop of Indian hockey teams Olympic participation, through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreams of playing for an independent nation. India won its first gold medal win in 1948 after 12 years of struggle.

The movie is directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner. Apart from Akshay Kumar, it has a cast of Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal.
