FIFA World Cup- Japan win over Germany, but Mexico ecstatic

June 28 (WTN)- In a major upset, South Korea defeated defending champions Germany 2-0 and prevented Germany from entering the knock out round. Germany were considered as one of the favourites in the tournament.
Although, the Asian team South Korea did not qualify for next round, but they became “brothers” of Mexico as Mexico reach next round for their clash against Brazil. With Mexico loosing 3-0 to Sweden it was left to South Korea to defeat Germany, for them to advance in next round.
Germany have become the fourth defending champions in the last five tournaments to be eliminated in the group stage. It was the first time Germany has been knocked out in the first round since 1938
Large crowds celebrated Mexico's progression at the South Korean embassy in Mexico City, chanting that Koreans were their "brothers".
