Katrina was born in Hong Kong. She also lived in countries like Japan, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Poland during her childhood. She began to live in Hawaii at the age of 14 years and there she got her first modeling contract. After this she went to London, where she lived for 3 years.
Her mother named her Katrina Turquotte. She was advised to use ‘Kaif’ as her surname by ‘Boom’ movie producer and Tiger’s mother at the time of her Bollywood debut. So that Indian viewers can identify her as an Indian and can emotionally connect with her.
Katrina who is living in India since long time has the citizenship of Britain. She is in India on working visa. Talking about her upcoming films, soon she would be seen with Shah Rukh Khan in 'Zero' and 'Thugs of Hindustan' with Aamir Khan.
