Modi government's ‘big step’ towards making railway facilities 'better'
 
JAN 08 (WTN) - The Modi Government is working from time to time to protect and facilitate the passengers of the train. In this episode, the price list of food and drinking items will be publicly in the trains from March this year. After many complaints from travelers from time to time of demanding more money than the price of food items, the railway has decided to implement this scheme. In this price list with the price of food items, there will be written, "Please don’t give any tips, if the bill is not found, your food is free." For your information, let you know that Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has instructed all the Zonal Railways to implement transparency in the catering services.
 
According to the information, Railway Minister minister Piyush Goyal has advised that on 31 March 2019, catering staff and TTE should be distributed to POS (Point of Sale) machines with swap and billing machines in all trains. In addition, all trains with catering facilities should have a price list till March 2019. So that travelers can know what the actual price for the food they are purchasing.
 
Another new step to facilitate rail passengers has been taken by the Ministry of Railways. As you know, the complaints of poor quality of food have always been happening in trains of Indian Railways and people complain about it on Twitter. On the complaint of bad food, the Railways have imposed a fine of Rs 1.5 crore on the vendors for the same reason.
 
In a written answer in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain said that most of the complaints of quality of food were received by IRCTC. In the 6,261 complaints received by IRCTC, there is a great deal of bad food quality, contaminated water and rules breaking rules in the train. According to the Minister of State of Railways, strict action has been taken against the contractor and suppliers who supply food after the complaint. Of the 7,529 complaints received there, the warning was given in 2,322 cases. In these cases, one contract was canceled and there was not enough evidence for 555 complaints.
 
After complaining of frequent travelers, the Railways have also appointed food safety supervisors to look at the quality of food. Their work is to supervise the kitchen unit of the Railways. Whereas the Food Safety Officer who collects samples, they are sent for testing in the recognized Lab under the Food Safety and Standard Act. Penalties are treated when the food samples are found negative in the check.
