Panchayati Raj Ministers of various states to meet in Bhopal on June 27

Union Panchayati Raj Minister Tomar and CM Chouhan to take part  

Bhopal: A meeting of Panchayati Raj Ministers of various states will be organised on June 27 at 9am Bhopal. Union Panchayatiraj and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will attemd the conference at local Hotel Jehanuma. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will take part in the programme at 4 pm.

Minister of State for Panchayati Raj and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Purushottam Roopla, Panchayati Raj Secretary Shri Jitendra Shankar Mathur and Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh will also address Panchayati Raj Ministers, department secretaries, senior officials, National Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Sansthan (NIRD and PR) representatives, State Institute for Rural Development (SIRD) faculty members and directors, Social Sector Ministry officials, UNDP, UN-Women, UNICEF, World Bank, WHO, UNFN, leading non-government organisations like multi-level organisation representatives and various subject experts during the conference. Some successful sarpanchs will be honoured during the conference.

The topics on which presentations will be made during the conference include prominent issues related to Mantralaya schemes like gram panchayat development, grant of 14th Finance Commission (FFC) to gram panchayats, innovative training programme, e-governance and Panchayat (Expansion till Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996. Besides this, a panel discussion will also be held on the role of panchayats in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Smart Panchayat for New India and Water Resources. Apart from the panel discussion, Panchayat Initiative and “Gramoday Sankalp”, tri-monthly newspaper and films of Panchayati Raj Ministry on YouTube channel will be shown. A presentation on “Gramoday se Bharat Uday” and Innovations in Panchayati Raj Sysytem in Madhya Pradesh will also be given.-WTN
