8.7667 lakh quintal more seeds available for Kharif than last year

Bhopal 07 June 2022: A total of 25.9011 lakh quintal seeds of paddy, maize, jowar, bajra, kodo-kutki, urad, moong, tuar, soybean, groundnut, sesame, Ramtil and cotton have been arranged for Kharif 2022 in the state. Last year 17.1344 lakh quintal seeds were arranged. In this way, 8.7667 lakh quintal more seeds are available for Kharif than last year.

This information was given in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mantralaya here today. Chief Minister Chouhan also inquired about the use of moong and urad procured in the state. Finance Minister Jagdish Deora, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, Minister for Cooperatives Arvind Singh Bhadauria, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shailendra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Ajit Kesari, Principal Secretary Cooperative K. .C Gupta and Markfed MD P. Narhari were present.

Adequate availability of fertilizers in the state

Chief Minister Chouhan sought information about the availability of fertilizers in the state and the arrangements made regarding its supply. It was informed in the meeting that sufficient quantity of fertilizers is available in the state. Information about the sale and storage of Urea, DAP, NPK, SSP and M.O.P. from April 1, 2022 till date was given. All 52 districts of the state have more storage than last year. If we compare the sale of D.A.P. with the previous year, more storage arrangements have been made in 49 districts of the state. Similarly NPK sale has also increased over the last year. SSP and urea has also been stored in comparatively larger quantity.

Uninterrupted supply and subsidy

It was told that due to the availability of adequate quantity of manure and fertilizers in the state, the buyers have got freedom from the problems like making purchases standing in queues and buying in black. Arrangements were made to provide direct relief to the farmers from subsidy. Even at present, uninterrupted supply of fertilizers has been ensured with necessary subsidies.

Moong and Urad procurement

In the year 2022-23, a proposal related to the proposed procurement of 4 lakh 03 thousand metric tonnes of moong and 27 thousand metric tonnes of urad was sent to the central government. The central government has given procurement target of 2 lakh 25 thousand 525 metric tonnes for moong and 21 thousand 400 metric for urad. Chief Minister Chouhan also inquired about the Moong and Urad procured in the state in the year 2021-22. Last year, 4 lakh 39 thousand 563 metric tonnes of moong was procured from 301 centers in the state. The state government procured three times more than the target of the central government. Moong was procured from a total of one lakh 85 thousand farmers. Efforts have been made for systematic disposal of excessively procured moong.

Out of 01 lakh 92 thousand 313 metric ton moong available,
78 thousand 511 metric ton quantity is fit for distribution through fair price shops for mid-day meal. Along with this, a plan was made to sell 1320 metric tonnes of moong through e-auction. The plan for distribution of remaining quantity is also ready. The work of distribution of 50 thousand 115 metric tonnes of moong worth Rs 428 crore 82 lakh was done for the students. In this, the quantity supplied by the marketing association is 71 thousand 326 metric tonnes, the value of which is Rs 610 crores 32 lakhs.

Use of technology in quality control

It was told that mobile application is being used in pesticide quality control. The process of analysis has been made transparent through sampling of pesticides. For this a centralized online sample tracking and monitoring system has been developed.
