Students to receive titles in Indian attire for the first time

Bhopal: Governor and Chancellor Omprakash Kohli will take part in the 6th convocation ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University on November 13. 3583 students who have passed in last four sessions will be conferred the titles at the ceremony. Also 222 students who have conducted researches in various subjects will also receive their degrees at the ceremony. 172 students who have topped the merit list in various courses of academic session 2013-14 to 2016-17 will be honoured with gold medals.

For the first time in the country, students will wear turbans and receive the titles in Indian attire at the convocation ceremony. While boys will be dressed in white kurta-pyjama, girls will attend the ceremony in white suit. Turbans have been mandatory for students who will receive their PhD titles and gold medals. The Khadi Bhandar will put up a stall in the university campus itself to make availability of the convocation attire easy for the students. It may be noted that Higher Education Minister Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya has initiated the idea of Indian attire at the convocation ceremony.
