Land rights campaign to be launched for people without residential land

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that people without residential land will soon be provided land in the state. He said that after a certain period, no one will be landless. In addition, a special drive will be launched to give patta (land right) to backward tribes Saharia, Bhariya and Baiga. He issued instructions to officers to chalk out plan for land right campaign. Chief Secretary BP Singh and other senior officials were present in the meeting.

 Chief Minister Chouhan instructed the officials that law has been made in the state to provide piece of land necessarily to those who do not have residential land. Execution of this law should be ensured strictly. He said that application should be taken from such landless people and the list should be read out in Gram Sabha meeting on January 26. Residential plots will be made available to such eligible people.

 Chouhan said that such people are residing on the land and it is available, they should be given rights of the same land. The land is not available at the places, residential plots will be available in new areas declaring new locality systematically. Houses be availed in multi-storey buildings in urban areas sans land. Land rights letter will be given to people who have land and residing for years but they do not have land rights.

 On this occasion, it was informed that 8.72 lakh undisputed name transfer and property division cases were resolved in the drive launched in previous days. 26 lakh residential pattas were also distributed. Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development RS Julania, Principal Secretary, Urban Administration and Development, Malay Srivastava, Principal Secretary, Revenue Arun Pandey, principal secretary to the chief minister, Ashok Varnawal and SK Mishra, Secretary to the Chief Minister Vivek Agrawal, Hariranjan Rao, secretary, revenue, P Narhari were present in the meeting.-Windowtonews
