At the junior national rowing championship, the winners of the Academy wore two gold one silver Rowing players of Water Sports Academy did proud to Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Rowing players of the Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy performed brilliantly in junior national rowing competition, earned two gold and one silver medal, and wrested Madhya Pradesh in the championship. In the 38th Junior National Rowing Championship held in Jagatpur Cuttack (Odisha) from November 14 to 19, 2017 Madhya Pradesh got third position in the medal tally due to the spectacular performance of the rowing players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy.

Academy champions Mangal Singh and Nitesh Bhardwaj in the doubles event of junior boys in the championship got the gold medal in Madhya Pradesh by completing the race in 3 minutes 25.81 seconds. In the same category of Caxless Four event, Academy's players Sunil Prajapati, Rohit Sandhav, Vijaypal Singh and Manas Sharma performed brilliantly and finished the gold medal in 3 minutes 11.5 seconds while completing the gold medal.

In the pair event of the junior boys category of the competition, the Academy's players Gopal Thakur and Yogesh Thakur jumped the silver medal with the time of 3: 38.80.

The said players participated in the Junior National Rowing Championship under the leadership of the Chief Instructor of the Academy Mr. Dalbir Singh and won the medal and made Madhya Pradesh proud. About 500 players from 19 states took part in the championship.-Windowtonews
