Narmada’s Stream to be Maintained at Omkareshwar

Bhopal: Narmada’s flow has weakened at Omkareshwar owing to situation emerged from the scanty rains this year. Remedies are being made to maintain the necessary water flow in this situation.
Vice Chairman Narmada Valley development Authority Rajnish Vaish has informed that deepening work is being carried out by the NHDC at the downstream of the dam at Omkareshwar for proper flow. This would help maintaining the water flow at Omkareshwar.
It may be mentioned that the main water resource of Narmada river i.e. Indira Sagar reservoir which has full capacity of 262.13 meter is filled up to only 254 meter due to the scanty rainfalls this year.-Windowtonews
