Sugarcane Commissioner Must Ensure Payment from Sugar Factories to Farmers

Bhopal: The Sugarcane Commissioner cum Director of the state has been directed to ensure payment to the sugarcane farmers within 3 days by holding a meeting of management of 14 sugar factories of the state according to the notification of the Government of India. According to the circular of the Government of India, the FRP of Rs. 255 per quintal has been declared on sugarcane containing 9.50 sugar recovery. Beside this, as a result, Rs. 2.68 premium per quintal for sugarcane containing additional 0.1 percent sugar has to be given to the sugarcane farmers by the sugar factories.

The Principal Secretary Agriculture Welfare and Agriculture Development of the state has given instructions to the Sugarcane Commissioner for strict compliance of the Government of India’s circular.-Windowtonews
