Farmers not to worry about rise and fall of crop prices

Bhopal: Scores of farmers including Rajendra Singh of Koyalkhedi village and Kamal Singh of Tukral village in Ujjain district have started preparing for their next crop now as they are now free of the rise and fall of crop prices. They believe that if they get less price of the crop in the mandi, state government will help them. Farmers are at ease after the introduction of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana.
Farmer Kamal Singh from Tukral village of Tarana tehsil had sold soyabean at Rs 2,700-2,800 per quintal. He was too happy when Rs 68 thousand got deposited from the state treasury to his account recently on November 22. Bank management told him that this amount was the amount of price difference in the support price and model rate of the sold soyabean crop. This amount is called the price difference which he has acquired from the state government. Kamal Singh is a progressive farmer of Ujjain district. State government has given him the maximum amount of price difference in the district under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. Kamal Singh says that earlier he had to sell soyabean at the rate of Rs 1700-1800 per quintal. With the implementation of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, farmers no longer have to worry about the rise and fall of prices. Now they can sell their crop anywhere.
Farmer Rajendra Singh of Koyalkhedi village had sown soyabean in 15 bigha land. He brought 40 quintal soyabean to Ujjain mandi on November 3 and sold it. After getting registered with the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, he is not worried that his soyabean was sold at a low price because he is sure to receive the price difference amount in the next phase. Like Rajendra, scores of farmers of his village received their price difference amount directly in their bank accounts under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana.-Windowtonews
