Delegation of journalists from Assam take details of Smart City

Bhopal: A delegation of journalists from Assam took details of Smart City coming up in Bhopal today and saw the works carried out so far. They visited cycle track and cycle stand being built by Municipal Corporation at Hoshangabad Road. Smart electric polls were also shown to the journalists. Modern cameras have been installed on the polls.
Commissioner of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Smt Priyanka Das told the journalists that Smart City project of Bhopal has been selected under National Smart City Mission of Central Government. Bhopal is known as a city of lakes having also archeological heritage in a big number. Smart City will be developed keeping heritage protection in mind. 342 acres area sprawling in Tatya Tope Nagar is being developed as a smart city. Sixty thousand population will be availed facilities like health centers, schools, library, community hall, sports complex, modern park in next 20 years. Three metro lines will be proposed in Tatya Tope Nagar Zone. Modern water supply system, power supply and environment friendly buildings will be developed in Smart City. Municipal Corporation commissioner also informed about other development projects and recently constructed Rajabhoj Bridge in the state capital.
Journalists visit Madhav Rao Sapre Newspapers Museum
Journalists from Assam also visited Madhav Rao Sapre Memorial Newspapers Museum and Research Institute in Bhopal today. Its founder Padmashree Vijaydutt Shridhar informed that 25,300 newspapers-magazines, 1.16 lakh books, 1000 manuscripts, 25,000 rare letters of eminent editors, writers documents, rare documents of the year 1934 and 4,605 references files are in the museum. He said that 1000 researchers have completed their thesis in the institute. He said that teachers of high schools and high-secondary schools of the state have been imparted training under National Secondary Education Campaign. The institute has also published books related to newspapers. Journalists visited various galleries in the institute and saw the documents. Founder Vijaydutt Sridhar also briefed the journalists about the history of newspapers in India and Madhya Pradesh.-Windowtonews
