Farmers Not Consider Agriculture a Loss Making Profession Any More

Bhopal: Farmers of Jhabua and Anuppur districts do not consider agriculture a loss making occupation now. A change has been witnessed in the ideology of the farmers after benefitting from the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in these districts. Bhavantar (Price Difference) amount has been transferred in the bank accounts of 1078 and 173 farmers of Jhabua and Annuppur district respectively till now.
Farmer Maya Kunwar of village Mohankot- Petalwad Block of Jhabua district had never thought, she will make profit from the agriculture, as she always used to face weather’s wrath and uncertainty of seeds-fertiliser and electricity besides water. At this time, Maya Kunwar made registration under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana after selling her 125.86 quintal soybean in Petalwad mandi and obtained a receipt for cash payment. She became amazed, when information regarding deposit of Rs. 59 thousand 154 in her bank account reached her as she had received the entire payment against the produce in the mandi. Bank informed her that this sum is a Bhavantar amount of support price fixed by the government and model rate. This has been paid by the state government. Maya Kunwar and her family became very happy after knowing about this and expressed gratitude towards the government wholeheartedly.
Farmers of Anuppur district were worried due to decline in mandi rates this year, but Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana has made them relieved now. On being informed about the scheme, the farmers got the support price on the spot, when they sold their crops to the traders in mandis, under the supervision of government officers. They also received Bhavantar amount of support price and model rate in their bank accounts. Informing this, Ramkripal Patel, the farmer of the district expressed gratitude towards the state government. He came to understand the benefit of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, when he sold his urad crop in the mandi and received profit of more than Rs. 9 thousand.
Total 173 farmers of Anuppur district have sold their notified crops under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in Anuppur district till now. Fourteen farmers of the district sold 29.947 quintal urad, 6 farmers 1.575 quintals sesame, 127 farmers 49.15 quintals maize and 308.847 quintals soybean in krishi upaj mandis.-Windowtonews
