CM Chouhan to honour players
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will honour four players of Rio Para Olympics, Davendra Jhajhariya (Javelin Throw), Mariappan Thangavelu (High Jump), Smt. Deepa Malik (Short Put) and Varun Singh Bhati (High Jump) at T.T. Nagar Stadium on Tuesday. Cheques of Rs 50 lakh each will be presented to gold medal winners of Rio Para Olympics, Rs 40 lakh to silver medal winners and Rs 25 lakhs to bronze medal winners in the presence of Union Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
Woman wrestler Smt. Sakshi Malik of Rio Olympics will be honoured with Rs 25 lakh for winning bronze medal during the samaroh. Along with this, Rs 5 lakh each will be given to Smt. Anuradha Devi, P. Susheela Chanu, Renuka Yadav and L. Felli of Madhya Pradesh State Womens’ Hockey Academy in the Indian Women’s Hockey team in Rio-Olympic-2016.
28 sports personalities to be awarded
Total 28 players of the state have been selected for various sports awards this year. This includes 10 players for Vikram Award, 14 players for Eklavya Award, two trainers for Vishwamitra award, one Malkhamb player for Late Prabhash Joshi Award and one player for Lifetime Achievement Award.-Windowtonews
