Parents welcome control on private school fees hike

Bhopal: All parents want their children to study in good schools. To fulfil this wish, they get their children admitted in private schools without worrying about their income. Considering the nursery fees they prepare themselves to educate their children up to 12th standard in the school. Due to this private school owners had started hiking their fees on some or the other pretext. There was not control on fee hike etc. in these schools. But now the state government has passed a bill to check this practice of arbitrarily hiking fees by private institutions. Now private schools will not be able to recover huge sum in the name of fees from the parents. Madhya Pradesh is the first state government in the country to have taken such a step.
Vijay Sharma residing in New Indira Nagar, Ujjain believes that the state government should control fees charged in private schools and colleges. We always wanted this check on fees charged by private schools. By passing the Madhya Pradesh Private School (Regulation of fees and related subject) Bill-2017, the state government will not only be able to control fee hike but also check sale of books, dress etc. When Rajesh had got his daughter admitted in Convent School, Ujjain, the annual fees at that time was hardly Rs 3,000. Today the fee has hiked to Rs 30,000. In 4-5 years the fee has hiked atleast four times. Now Rajesh is sure that due to the fee regulation act, there will be no hike in school fee of his daughter.
Similarly 57-year-old M.L Soni of Sethinagar Ujjain would always remain worried about his granddaughter’s admission. He wanted his granddaughter to study in such a reliable school which would not hike fees and would provide good education. Soniji is happy with the fee regulation act and considering this as government’s right decision in the right direction said that this firm will power is needed to fight education mafia. Satendra Singh of Vishnupura, Ujjain said that for parents whose children are studying in private schools, the fee regulation act will prove to be a boon as people were waiting since very long for it.
Lalit Sudhakar of Mahananda city says that the fee regulation act will provide equal rights to education to all. Children of Mohsin Khan of Kot Mohallah are studying in a prestigious Convent School. He expressed happiness that an act is going to be implemented in state for control on fee hike.
The Bill passed for check on fee hike in private schools has successfully generated a positive influence among parents. They are feeling greatly relieved due to this initiative by state government.-Windowtonews
