Advance Techniques and Innovations of Waste Management to be Encouraged

Bhopal: Minister for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Maya Singh said that advance techniques and innovations of waste management will be promoted in Madhya Pradesh. Smt. Singh was addressing the workshop on ‘Waste Management for Sustainable Growth and Investment Opportunity in Madhya Pradesh’. The workshop was organized in the joint aegis of CII and Urban Development.

Smt. Singh mentioned that Rs. 87 lakh 500 crore approximately will be invested in the cities of Madhya Pradesh during the next 5 years. The integrated Urban Solid Waste Management action plan is being implemented on regional basis in the field of cleanliness through Public-Private Partnership. Under this, consolidated solid waste management is proposed by making 26 clusters in all the urban bodies of the state. She further stated that overall responsibility is must to ensure overall development of the state. Vision to make all the cities clean is incomplete without solid waste management. Smt. Singh told stake holders for disposal of waste material of trenching ground with scientific method and to make arrangement for preventing absorption of poisonous elements in ground water. She said that such things will ensure proper use of these places.
