Not a Single Drop of Sewerage Water would be Released in Narmada River

Bhopal: Narmada River is a life line of Madhya Pradesh and every possible effort will be made to keep it pure and clean. Not a single drop of sewerage water would be released from urban and rural areas into Narmada River. Every citizen of the state must take resolution to keep Narmada River clean. We all have duty to protect
Narmada River from pollution. The state government has approved a sum of Rs. 1400 crore for construction of sewage treatment plants in 18 cities situated on the banks of Narmada River to make it clean and pollution free. This was said by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing the public gathering in bhoomi poojan programme held for construction of sewerage plant costing Rs. 324 crore and water supply scheme worth Rs. 149 crore under the Amrut Yojana in Bhatoli of Jabalpur today. Chouhan administered pledge to the public present on the occasion to make Narmada River clean.

CM Chouhan said that land will be provided to the poor by the state government for dwelling. No poor of the state will remain without residential plot, residential patta will be provided to the poor, who do not possess land for housing. He further mentioned that poor have rights to live with happiness, they should also have pucca house. Houses are being built in the urban areas also under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the scheme, an amount of Rs. One lakh each to 2012 beneficiaries for construction of house has already been provided.

Samman Nidhi of Rs. 11 Thousand to Tejaswini Dubey

Praising 7 years old Ku. Tejaswini Dubey, the student of class II, who have administered the pledge to keep Maa Narmada clean, Chouhan said that we all should follow the message given by the little girl to keep the Narmada River clean and pollution free. He announced samman nidhi of Rs. 11 thousand for Ku. Tejaswini Dubey.

At the outset, Mayor Smt. Swati Sadanand Godbole informed about the sewerage plant and water supply scheme. She said that 195 k.m. long sewage line will be laid in Jabalpur under the sewerage plant scheme. Five sewage treatment plants will be constructed under the scheme. Under the water supply scheme costing Rs. 149 crore, pure potable water could be supplied to the areas of Jabalpur city, which were lagging behind in this facility.

Minister for Forest and District In-Charge, Jabalpur Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar, Member of Parliament-Damoh Prahalad Patel, MLAs Anchal Sonkar, Ashok Rohani, Sushil Indu Tiwari, Members of Mayor Council and others were present in the programme.-Windowtonews
