Ramkishen’s family now resides in a pucca house

Bhopal: Ramkishen Barar lived in a temporary hut in slope on Gol Pahadiya area of Gwalior city. There was mishaps of such huts caving in during rainy season. Ramkishen and his wife would hug their children tightly whenever lightning struck due to heavy rains. For handcart labourer Ramkishen, a house of his own was a distant dream.
Ramkishen would reach Lakshmiganj Sabji Mandi with his hand cart daily at 5 am. The day would pass off with Ramkishen pulling and pushing handcart loaded with the goods of businessmen from one end to the other. He had to make both ends meet with whatever meagre income he could generate after toiling all day. One day Ramkishen happened to hear Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s speech on TV that government would make houses for every needy person. This brought a ray of hope in his life.
Ramkishen reached Municipal Corporation office and filled the application for house. His name got selected for a concrete house under Ekikrat Shahari Awas and Gandi Basti Vikas Yojana. Under this scheme, Municipal Corporation got a well-equipped multiplex constructed in Gende wali sadak, Bakra Mandi. Ramkishen also got a pucca flat in this multiplex.
When Ramkishen finally received the keys of the house, his family’s joy knew no bounds. The flat has all basic amenities including a bedroom, drawing room, toilet and kitchen. Ramkishen’s children have decorated the house with beautiful pictures. They go to a nearby government school. They have to pay a very small amount as instalment for the new flat which is lesser than the rent they had to pay for their earlier kachha house.
After this worry for a house is over, Ramkishen now works with double energy which has increased his income also. When he returns later in the evening, he brings along sweets and fruits. All his fatigue disappears when he sits together with his family for dinner. Ramkishen and his family is all praise for the state government.-Windowtonews
