Irrigate fields through solar power pump while sitting at home

Bhopal: Farmers of Neemuch district are doing what that has been an example in the country. The key of this change is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's idea of digital India. Earlier, farmers had to wake up over the night to irrigate standing crop, but now they have got the facility to irrigate the fields just on a click.

Some farmers of Athana village of Jawad block of Neemuch district have taken initiative for taking benefit of solar power pump. Each farmer has spent Rs. 72000 under Solar Pump Scheme and the rest amount has been given as a grant by the State Government. After installing solar pump in the field, farmers do not need to wake up over the night. Farmers can irrigate their field through android mobile while sitting at home. A pump can be run about 10 to 11 hours by solar power pump. Farmers are happy with the scheme. They have got freedom from payment of electricity bills and they do not have to wait for supply of electricity on three phase lines for irrigation.

 Irrigation pumps have been installed in the fields after sanctioning solar power pump to 35 farmers in Neemuch district. Officials of renewable energy department say that the cost of solar power of 5 HP is around Rs 5 lakh. A farmer has to pay Rs 72,000 the rest amount is given by the State government as a grant.-Windowtonews
