Gou-Samvardhan Dairy Yojana Becomes Medium to Earn Rs. 6 lakh Annually for Bal Singh

Bhopal: Farmers of Madhya Pradesh have made animal husbandry an occupation besides farming to increase their income. This has helped them improving their life standard. The Acharya Vidhyasagar Gou-Samvardhan Diary Yojana has made Bal Singh Sumer Singh Masania of village Balolakhedi-Block Rama of district Jhabua a Lakhpati from an ordinary farmer.
Bal Singh was taking just traditional crop from his agriculture field as an ordinary farmer and was making both the ends meet with difficulty. One day, he came to know about the Acharya Vidhyasagar Gou-Samvardhan Diary Yojana being implemented by the Veterinary Department. On taking part in Scientists’ seminar, Bal Singh came to know that animal husbandry can be done comfortably with the agriculture. He contacted the veterinary department and submitted the application for its assistance.
Loan of Rs. 6.40 lakh was sanctioned to Bal Singh for animal husbandry and he received Rs. 2 lakh as subsidy amount under the Acharya Vidhyasagar Gou-Samvardhan Diary Yojana. From the loan amount, he purchased 10 Murra Buffaloes from Kachch and Bhuj area of Gujarat and started producing green fodder at his agriculture field for the buffaloes. Beside this, he also used straw and remains of other crops as a feed for the buffaloes.
Bal Singh is now getting 80 litres milk per day from the buffaloes and gets Rs. 4 thousand per day from selling milk to the government milk federation. He is earning a profit of Rs. 60 thousand per month from the animal husbandry and is also depositing Rs. 15 thousand per month in the bank towards the installment. His income has gone up to Rs. 60 thousand per month from Rs. 10 thousand. He has earned a net profit of Rs. 6 lakh at an average this year.-Windowtonews
