Rs 1,000 per month to free Sahariya, Baiga and Bhariya families of malnutrition

Bhopal: The Cabinet today took a decision to provide financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month from December 2017 to families of Sahariya, Baiga and Bhariya (Special Backward Tribes) to free them of malnutrition at meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This amount will be deposited in the account of the woman head of the family. This new scheme will benefit at least 2.5 lakh families of Sahariya, Baiga and Bhariya tribes.

The Cabinet has proposed to increase income limit of cent-percent reimbursement of the charges fixed by Fee Regulatory Committee and Private University Regulatory Commission and admission to courses of non-government institutions from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. Decision was also taken to end the bond of income limit of ST students under Class 11th, 12th and College Scholarship Scheme.

Atleast 6 lakh 94 thousand 646 students have been benefitted from state and centre under Post-metric Scholarship Scheme in the last three years. The scheme has been provided approval of Rs 586 crore 47 lakh for its continuation from 2017-18 to 2019-20. As many as 8 lakh 72 thousand students would be benefitted under the Class 11th, 12th and college scholarship scheme in the next three years.

Smart Phone Scheme to continue

The Cabinet decided to continue the smart phone supply scheme to students of first year studying in government colleges of the state under Higher Education Department. Distribution of smart phone will be ensured to students taking admission in first year graduation in government college after their 75 regular attendance is registered under the scheme. The Cabinet approved extension of the scheme will expense limit up to Rs 154 crores for year 2017-18 to year 2019-20.

Students studying in the college will be provided assistance to remove difficulties that come in the way of removal of obstacles after obtaining new information through the use of internet and other software.

The Cabinet decided that the evaluation of change request mandays should be carried out by a technical experts committee with the coordination of the Finance Department and Science and Technology Department by TCS for additional new works under Integrated Financial Management Information System Project run by Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts. The committee will present evaluation report from time to time to the Commissioner Treasuries and Accounts.

The Cabinet decided to pay honorarium of Rs 75 per handpump for maximum 120 handpumps in place of Rs 65 per handpump payable to contract handpump technician under Public Health Engineering Department.

The Cabinet has granted approval of creation of 12 temporary posts for environment department.-Window To News
