Action to be taken against those who punish children in schools

Bhopal: The School Education Department will take stern action against the management of such schools and those found guilty of harassing children by giving them physical punishment. In this connection, the department has issued instructions to the collectors and district education officers.

As per instructions a complaint box has to be compulsorily kept for the complaints of children in the school. The department circular says that among the provisions related to children’s rights under the Right to Education Act implemented in the state, an important provision is related to the ban on physical and mental harassment of children. School managements have been told to strictly adhere to the provisions.

Mool Kartavya Divas to be observed in schools

Mool Kartavya Divas will be observed in all schools of the state on January 3. On this day children will be given information about the basic duties of citizens described in the Constitution of India. Children will be made to resolve to fulfil their duties.

Essay competitions, debates, quiz, speech, slogan and painting contests will be organized in the schools to spread awareness towards basic duties.-Window To News
