Rs 335 crore approved for upgradation of High School/Higher Secondary Schools

Bhopal: For the expansion of secondary education for the upgradation of High School and Higher Secondary Education approval for expenditure of Rs 335 crore 24 lakh was granted in a meeting of the Cabinet today chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. With this the scheme of upgradation of 820 High Schools and 540 Higher Secondary Schools will be implemented from 2017-18 to 2019-20 for a period of three years. Along with this Rs 100 crore has been approved for making furniture available in 6039 government middle schools. Apart from this, an expense of Rs 65 crore 50 lakh was approved on the three-year work plan for power arrangement in 1736 High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools of the state. The Cabinet granted approval on principle for Rs 40 crore 31 lakh to develop physical infrastructure and amenities in School of Excellence at district and block level to make high quality education and implement in year 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.

The Cabinet has taken a decision that necessary amendment will be made in the “Madhya Pradesh Public Service (Reservation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Rule 1998” to include Sahariya Tribe in Rule 4-B.

The Cabinet also granted approval for creation of 7 temporary posts for Disaster Management Cell after its formation in the Mantralaya for better disaster management under the Home Department.

The Cabinet also decided to extend financial assistance being provided to scheduled caste girls to promote them and for their education under Girls Literacy Promotion Scheme by the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department from year 2017-18 to 2019-20. The Cabinet has sanctioned provision of Rs 9 crore 92 lakh in year 2017-18 for construction of boundary wall in police stations.

The Cabinet granted approval to present Rs 50 lakh award to runners-up of ICC World Cup 2017 (England) the Indian Women Cricket team players and organize a felicitation ceremony. Similarly, an expense of Rs 21 crore was okayed for the period from year 2017-18 to 2019-20 to make international level sports training and infrastructure to represent the country in outstanding players of Asian Games 2018 and Olympic Games 2020 in the state. As per proposal of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Rs 90 crore expense was approved for three years from 2017-18 to 2019-20 for promotion and training of players.

The Cabinet granted approval of extension of 82 temporary posts of Madhya Pradesh Power Regulatory Commission till March 2020.

The Cabinet granted approval for continuous implementation of Amrit Yojana. For providing pure and adequate drinking water to urban bodies in the state the Cabinet granted approval of Rs 363 crore under Chief Minister’s Urban Drinking Water Scheme. The Cabinet granted approval extension of grant scheme to schools for the blind, deaf and dumb by the Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Department. It also granted approval for financial assistance of Rs 26 crore 50 lakhs for coming three years for the blind, deaf and dumb institutions.

The Cabinet granted approval for extension of Mukhya Mantri Kanya Abhibhavak Pension Yojana under which nearly one lakh 47 thousand 304 beneficiaries are to be benefitted from year 2017-18 to 2019-20.

The Cabinet granted approval for payment of special grant of Rs six crore 70 lakh for 182 families of Bamana village of Sagar district situated outside Pagra dam submergence area constructed under Pancham Nagar Complex.

The Cabinet granted approval of Rs 35 crore 13 lakh for the financial year 2017-18 to 2019-20 for the implementation of Infrastructure Grant Scheme to Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET).
