More than 67 lakh children registered in Dastak Abhiyan

Bhopal: State government is making all out efforts to free the state from malnutrition. Till date 67 lakh 49 thousand 803 children have been registered in Dastak Abhiyan implemented from December 18 to January 27, 2018 to identify malnourished children. Out of these health of 10 lakh 38 thousand 612 children has been examined. Joint teams of Public Health and Family Welfare and Women and Child Development Department are visiting every house in every village to identify malnourished children and arranging free treatment in nearby block or district level hospitals.
The Dastak Abhiyan teams are facing hardship in make parents of malnourished children aware for their treatment and nutrition needs in far-flung areas and also to get the malnourished children admitted in hospitals. Despite this, the teams are successful in convincing such parents to get their children treated. Dastak Abhiyan is proving to be quite successful in controlling malnutrition. The teams are visiting every house in every village to identify malnourished, severely acutely malnourished (SAM) children besides children with other diseases and making arrangements for their free treatment in hospitals.
So far Vitamin-A dose has been administered to 8 lakh 82 thousand 53 children of the state in the Abhiyan. Dastak teams have identified 4,116 severely acutely malnourished children, 1,022 children affected with severe malnutrition and serious ailments, 2,813 anemic children, 1,060 children with pneumonia, 1,477 with dehydration besides 11 thousand 548 children with other diseases and 1,652 with genetic diseases till date.-Window To News
