M.P. Holds Second Position under P.M. Matravandana Yojana

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has achieved second position in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Matravandana Yojana being implemented in order to bring improvement in the health of the pregnant and lactating women besides providing them sufficient rest. Total 77 thousand 130 women of the state have been linked and 13 thousand 355 women have already derived benefit from the scheme. The Maharashtra is the only state, which is one rank above Madhya Pradesh. Under the scheme, cash incentive is being provided to women before the birth of a first child and after the delivery to compensate the loss of wages partially.

There is a provision of first installment of Rs. One thousand on registration, the seconds installment of Rs. 2 thousand after six month pregnancy besides one medical examination at least and third installment of Rs. 2 thousand after the birth registration of the child besides completion of first stage of vaccination under the scheme.
