6th Pay Scale is being given to Teacher Cadre
Bhopal: A dignified post besides pay scale has been given to Shikshakarmis and Contractual Teachers by forming the teacher cadre, abolishing Karmi Culture in the education sector by the state government. During 1994 to 1997, teachers were being appointed in panchayat and urban bodies on the posts of Shiksha-karmi Cat-1, Cat-2 and Cat-3 on monthly remuneration of Rs. 1000, Rs. 800 and Rs. 500 respectively against the regular vacant post of teachers in the state. After this from the year 1998 till 2003 by enacting a rule the Shiksha karmi Cat-1, Cat-2 and Cat-3 were paid a monthly salary of Rs.3600, Rs.2990 and Rs.2350 respectively in the local bodies (rural and urban bodies).
The teacher cadre has been constituted on April 1, 2007 by the current government. The monthly salary of assistant teacher, teacher and senior teacher has been increased to Rs. 9,100, Rs.12,000 and Rs.14,700 respectively. Revising the pay scale from April 1, 2013, that was being given to the teacher, the salary band of Rs.4,500 – Rs.25,000 was approved. The salary band of Rs. 1,250, Rs.1,650 and Rs.1,900 contractual salary to assistant teacher, teacher and senior teacher was given besides dearness allowance equivalent to the government employees, which resulted in increase of Rs. 1,000 to Rs.2,500 in the salary for teacher cadre.
Not only this, the 6th pay scale was sanctioned for teacher cadre a year before, from January 1, 2016, which was supposed to be given to the government employees from September 1, 2017.

The newly appointed assistant teacher, teacher and senior teachers are receiving a monthly salary of Rs. 23,500, Rs.29,500 and Rs.33,000 after the approval of 6th pay scale. The assistant teachers, teachers and senior teachers, who have been working prior to this, are getting a monthly salary of Rs. 33,500, Rs. 37,000 and Rs. 43,500 respectively.
The benefit of revised scale (kramonatti) is being given after completion of 12 and 24 years to the teacher cadre. The School Education department has issued an order to give Kramonnat pay scale according to the 6th pay scale.
Double Monthly Remuneration to Samvida Shala Shikshak
By making an increase of 100 per cent, the double contractual monthly remuneration is being paid to contractual school teachers from November 1, 2011.
At present, the contractual monthly salary of Rs. 5,000 to contractual school teacher Cat-3, Rs. 7,000 to Cat-2 and Rs. 9,000 Cat-1 is being paid. These contractual school teachers are appointed on the post of teacher after the completion of 3 years service period and are given 6th pay scale equivalent to the government employees.-Window To News
