Secure society must for development: CM Chouhan

Bhopal: Indian Police Service probationers today paid a visit to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Chohan wished them a bright future and gave them guidance. On this occasion Special Director General Police Training KN Tiwari, Additional Director General Police Training Ashok Awasthi and Officer on Special Duty (ODS) to Chief Minister Adarsh Katiyar were present.

CM Chouhan said that police service is not a job, it is a mission. Keeping the society secure is a major responsibility. If the society is secure, only then will other activities of development gather pace. To control crime, it is important for the police to be visible in the field. This causes fear among the criminals which stops them from engaging in criminal activities. He said that security of women should be given top priority. There are other challeges like control of separatist elements, drug traficking and cyber crime. During the work there are chances of pressure and temptation. Need is to work with sensitivity and advance planning with dedication and selflessness.

The Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of probationary officers to carry forward the glorious tradition of Madhya Pradesh Police. Officials should work with a do or die attitude. Service will prove effective only when people remember the service done. Moral leadership should be established with sense of service and enthusiasm that is free of ego and disharmony.
