Seminar on ‘Sensitiveness towards SC/ST Categories’ on February 3 and 4

Bhopal: Joint training and seminar is being conducted on the subject ‘Sensitiveness towards SC/ST categories’ at RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management on February 3 and 4. Public Prosecutors have been invited specially for the first time in the seminar to facilitate the officers with special guidance as regard to increase the percentage of conviction and work competency.
In the 2 day seminar, lectures will be delivered by the Judges, Advocate General, DGP, Public Prosecutor, Legal Officer, Professors and Advocates on protection of rights of weaker sections and various Acts besides other subjects.
On the first day, the Principal Secretary Scheduled Caste and Tribe Development S.N. Mishra will inaugurate the seminar at 10.30 a.m. Legal Officer (Ajak) Police Headquarters Vijay Bansal will give information about the ‘SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) amended Act -2015’ from 11.15 to 12.00 noon. In the afternoon, from 12 noon to 12.45 p.m., the retired Joint Director Prosecution S.K. Khare will deliver lecture on ‘Challenges of Prosecution and its Solutions related to the cases of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act’. The Professor of Barkatullah University S.N. Chowdhary will give lecture on ‘ History of Untouchability in Indian Society and its effects besides Social Efforts made in the direction to eradicate it’ from 12.45 to 1.30 p.m. Panel discussions will be held from 1.30 to 2.00 p.m. The Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Singh Bhadoriya will give information about the ‘Errors made while registering first information report and its effects on disposal of case’ from 2.30 to 3.30 p.m. Moreover, from 3.30 to 4.00 p.m., the Assistant IG (Ajak) Amrit Meena will take feedback and suggestions from the participants. In the evening from 4.15 to 5.00, the participants will share their experiences in the presence of DIG (Ajak) Police Headquarters, Bhopal Dr. M.S. Sikarwar.
On the second day on February 4, seminar will start at 10.30 am in presence of chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Consumer Commission Justice Rakesh Saxena as the chief guest. Information about 'Being hostile by appellant and witness is the biggest obstacle in prosecution' will be given by Justice Shri Rakesh Saxena between 11.15 and 12 noon. Between 12 noon and 12.45 pm, lecture will be given by the advocate of Indore High Court bench, Anil Trivedi on 'Effects of Discrimination on the basis of caste in Indian society and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, on society'.
Between 12.45 pm and 1.30 pm, Professor of People's Institute of Management and Research, People's University, Bhopal, Dr Asma Rizwan will deliver lecture on 'Challenges for police in rapidly changing society: Special Reference to Atrocities committed on the basis of social boycott and caste. Panel discussion will be held between 1.30 pm and 2 pm. Additional Director General of Police (Ajak) Smt. Pragya Richa Shrivastava will present documentary between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm. Feedback and suggestions will be obtained by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (Ajak) Amrit Meena between 3.30 pm and 4 pm. The valedictory function of the seminar will be held between 4 pm and 5 pm in the presence of Advocate General, High Court, Jabalpur, Purushendra Kourav and Director General of Police Rishi Kumar Shukla.
The seminar is held twice a year at the state level. In addition, work efficiency of 7,000 to 8,000 officers and employees is enhanced by holding seminars at police headquarters, range and district level thrice a year.-Window To News
