Cent percent gram panchayats of state will have own buildings in a year

Bhopal: Cent per cent gram panchayats of the state will have their own buildings in the coming one year. These buildings will be named “Bharat Nirman Kendra”.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargav has approved Rs one crore 51 lakh for construction of remaining one thousand 46 gram panchayat buildings.

Bhargav told that first of all the panchayat raj institutions should have their own buildings to empower them so that the panchayats can fulfil their responsibilities effectively. Bhargav told that according to the survey conducted last year by the department there were total 5 thousand 166 gram panchayats without their own buildings. Out of these, 1189 panchayat buildings have been completed based on the approval sought earlier. The remaining 2 thousand 931 buildings are under construction and for the remaining 1046 panchayat buildings, Rs one crore 51 lakh 46 thousand has been approved at the rate of Rs 14 lakh 48 thousand per building.-Window To News
