Many historical ancient relics found in archaeological survey

Bhopal: Many historical, ancient relics, old temples, evidences, rock paintings and rare ancient idols of god and goddess have come to light in the archeological survey conducted by the department of archeology for earmarking archeological heritage, monuments and places in the national park, sanctuaries, tiger reserves situated in the state. Commissioner, Archaeology, Anupam Rajan has said that preservation and maintenance work of the ancient remains, temples, archeological monuments/places found in the archeological survey is necessary.
Anupam Rajan informed that records of Kalchuri period and many temples have been identified from Bandhavgarh fort located in Bandhavgarh National Park (Tiger Reserve) in the archaeological survey. According to the evidence found here, silver coins were issued by Akbar in the name of Bandhavgarh and Saint Kabir stayed for some time in this fort in the 16th century. In the fort at 18 places, Shiv Temple, Ram Janki Mandir, Khajana Mandir, Mandap, Moti Mahal - Rani Mahal, Kachhap, Matsyavatar Mandir, Bhu-Varah idol, equestrian, Sheshshayi Vishnu, Badi Gufa, fort gate, Kachhari, ancient temple, Kabir temple, which are of 5-6th century to 16-17 century, are unique in the art view. Construction of Bandhavgarh fort of Bandhavgarh National Park (Tiger Reserve) has been found of 4-5th century.
Four forests areas - Tava, Bori, Churna and Pachmarhi of Satpura national park situated in Hoshangabad district are known for rock shelters. Massive rock shelters with painted, in Bori region, Churnagundi rock shelter in Chuna area, Badakkachhar, Sherfufa rock shelter, Sanderi Rock shelter, Baba Garden rock shelter and Mahadev rock shelter in Pachmarhi area are important. Apart from the rock shelters, Rani Ka Mahal, Lat Singaar and Christ Church, Satyavati mandir in Tava Range, ancient Bavri, Mahal Sultan, Gauri Ka Kila and Chowki, Tilak Sindur Mandir and Kal Bhairav Manadir are important monuments.
'Son Chiria Sanctuary' is located in Ghatigaon area of Gwalior district. In this Survey conducted in sanctuary, Giriraj Dharan temple constructed in the 17-18th century in village Dhua in the area, Garhi remains, Jain temple and Jain idols of 10th century in village Tighra, pipeline of porcelain from village Naleshwar (important evidence of water system for Gujri Mahal by Raja Mansingh Tomar), remains of temple of 10th century near the hill, Shiv temple constructed by Maharaja Jiwajirao Scindia in village Devkhon, and remains of Jain temples in village Sujvay have come to light. Jain temples confirm the massive Jain temples of 10th century on the basis of the architecture.
Ancient remains have come to light from Raskamada, Chinagwah and Vaharwar In the survey in Sanjay National Park, located 60 km away from the district headquarters in Sidhi district. The fossils of Tendu trees, Sai and Achar trees, from the Kudaman river are considered to be one lakh years old. Temple remains and artifacts have been earmarked from two places in Chinagvah which are confirmed the presence of temple of 11th century. 100 year old Shikargarh has come to light in Baharwar which is made of stone and lime stone and 15th height. In which, stairs are constructed in the inner way for going up.
The safari located in the name of Mukundpur Tiger Safari was established on April 30, 2010 in Satna district. Prehistoric rock painting from Anandgarh fort, Shikargarh and an outpost constructed by Rewa state in 19th century and painted rock shelters in Putriyagham, Kusamhat (Ramgarh) have come to light in the archeological survey. Rock paintings are available from megalithic to historical period in the painted rock shelters.-Window To News
