Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel to Inaugurate Rahas Mela today

Bhopal: The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel will inaugurate Rahas Mela being organized at Gadakota Tahsil Headquarters of Sagar District on February 22. The 5 day long Rahas Mela is in fact a confluence of Bundelkhand’s art, culture and public welfare schemes. Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava will preside over the function. A state level convention of women self-help groups is also being organised during the mela. Cultural programmes will be held in the evening and artists, public representatives besides local citizens in large number are expected to take part in this mela.

Minister Bhargava informed that a state level Panchayat Raj Sammelan, state level Swachchta Sammelan and district level Rozgar Mela will be organised on February 23. The Union Minister of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar will be the Chief Guest and Minister of State for Cooperative Vishwas Sarang will grace the programmes.

Moreover, on February 24, convention of Prime Minister Housing Scheme’s beneficiaries, district level Sparsh Mela and Nashamukti Sammelan will be held. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawarchand Gahlot will grace the programmes. Free eye check up camp will be organized and free eyeglasses will be distributed on this occasion. Similarly, a convention of aaganwadi workers and assistants, convention of Soubhagya Yojana’s beneficiaries and Swasthya Mela will be organized on February 25 during the Rahas Mela. Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs Dr. Virendra Kumar will be the Chief Guest on this occasion. State’s Minister for Public Health Engineering Smt. Kusum Mehdele, Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Archana Chitnis and Chairperson State Women Commission Smt. Lata Vankhede will grace the programmes.

CM Chouhan to participate in concluding programme on February 26

Rahas Mela will be concluded on February 26. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will participate as the Chief Guest of the programme. A state level Farmers’ Convention, state level convention of tendu leaf collectors and district level Antodaya mela will be held on this occasion. The programme will be chaired by the Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava. Minister for Finance Jayant Mallayya, Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Gourishankar Bisen, Minister District in-charge Umashankar Gupta and Minister for Home and Transport Bhupendra Singh will grace the programme. Member of Parliament Laxmi Narayan Yadav, Prahlad Patel, Rakesh Singh, Nagendra Singh and other prominent citizens besides public representatives will take part in Rahas Mela.-Window To News
