Votes of Kolaras and Mungwali to be counted in 23 and 19 Rounds
Bhopal: Counting of votes of Kolaras and Mungawali assembly by-elections of Shivpuri and Ashok Nagar district respectively will be held on February 28. Twenty three rounds will be held to count the votes of Kolaras by-election, whereas 19 rounds will be held to count the votes of Mungwali. There are 22 and 13 contestants in fray for Kolaras and Mungwali by-elections respectively.
The Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Salina Singh gathered information from the district collectors of both the districts and returning officers, holding discussions with them about the counting. She told them to follow the instructions of the Election Commission of India during the counting. Counting will begin at 8.00 a.m. EVMs will be taken out from the strong room amid the tight security.
Votes of Kolaras by-election will be counted at Government ITI College, By-pass Road, Kolaras, whereas counting of Mungawali will be held at Government Nehru Degree College situated at Ashoknagar. Fourteen tables each for counting of Kolaras and Mungawali by-elections votes will be arranged. One micro observer, counting supervisor, counting assistant and 2 other employees will be deputed at each table. Similarly, 70 employees at each place will count the votes registered in the EVMs. Counting will be held in the presence of general observer, district election officer and returning officer. Other officers and employees will also be deputed to help in this work. Moreover, the counting agents of the candidates with their authority letters will also present during the counting. Video of entire counting will be made.
Three tier security arrangements have been made at both the counting venue. One company each of CAPF and local police force has been posted at both the venue. No person will be allowed inside without proper authority letter. Camera, mobile etc. are prohibited at the counting venues. Media centers have also been made at the counting venues to inform media. Postal votes will be counted first, which will be held at the desk of the returning officer.-Window To News
