Jal Vihar Yojana to provide employment on Narmada river

Bhopal: Nagar Parishad has introduced a pedal boat at Narmada river’s Demghat for Jal Vihar to promote tourism in Dindori district. One can go on a boat ride for Rs 10 per person. The pedal boat is being run by Govind Burman, Rajendra and Preetam Burman on the Narmada river. The pedal boat has been beautifully decorated which is very attractive and luring tourists. People throng the river to enjoy Jal Vihar.
Govind Burman, who runus the pedal boat on the river says that he enjoys taking people for Jal Vihar as it fetches him a good income. He said that the Jal Vihar fetches him an income of Rs 150 to Rs 200 per day with which he is able to fend for his family. Says Preetam Burman taking people for a ride on pedal boat helps him in earning a livelihood.
Preetam takes people for a ride from morning to night in a well-decorated boat amidst songs and music. The pedal boat scheme is inspired from similar boat ride arrangements in ponds and lakes in big cities.-Window To News
