Camps to be held in schools to update Aadhar: PS Manu Shrivastava

Bhopal: As per Aadhar Act it is mandatory to get the biometric information of Aadhar of children at the age of 5 and then again at the age of 15 updated. Along with this aadhar registration and updated mobile number is essential for scholarship and other facilities of students. Camps will be held in all government and private schools to get the information in aadhar of students updated.

Principal Secretary Science and Technology Manu Shrivastava informed that in failing to update the aadhar in a period of two years, it will become defunct and if the aadhar is not updated in the next one year, the aadhar will be omitted.

Corresponding to this, if aadhar is not updated at 15 years of age, the aadhar will be omitted when the aadhar holder attain 18 years of age. This will pose problems for children appearing in competitive exams. Aadhar registration in state is nearly 92 percent. While 84 percent aadhar registrations are in the age group of 5 to 18, 50 percent have registered under 5 years.

The fact that has come to light is that the age and mobile number of many children in aadhar registration is incorrect due to which their bank accounts cannot be opened. Students will have to pay Rs 25 for other updation apart from mandatory updation. Principal Secretary Shrivastava has instructed all collectors to organize camps in schools for updation of aadhar information of students.-Window To News
