Rs 30,000 per hectare for more than 50 percent crop damage

Bhopal: Grant assistance will be given at the rate of Rs 30 thousand per hectare for damage of more than 50 percent irrigated crops and Rs 16 thousand per hectare for rain based crops due to hail storming in February 2018. At present the amount of Rs. 15 thousand and Rs. 8 thousand is given resepctively. Amendments have been made in parameters and assistance to be provided under Revenue Book Code section 6-4, by the state government for giving to farmers for crop damage due to hail storming in February 2018 and assistance in the future. It may be mentioned that the announcement about the increase in the grant assistance was made by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the month of February during the inspection of crops affected by the hailstorm.

Financial help for crop damage

Principal Secretary, Revenue, Arun Pandey informed that new parameters have been fixed for all crops grown, which include vegetable cultivation, farming of spices, Isabgol, watermelon, melon whether they are on the bank of river or farms, including all fruit bearing trees, crops grown on them, mango, orange, lemon, banana, grapes and pomegranate cultivation and pan leaves.

 Grant assistance will be given at per hectare rate of Rs 5000 for rain based crops, Rs 9000 for irrigated crop, Rs 9000 for perennial (if damage in less than six months), Rs 15000 for perennial (if damage after over six months) and Rs 18000 for vegetable, spices and Isabgol farming for damage of 25 to 33 percent damage to small and marginal farmers who own agriculture land up to two hectare.

 Similarly, in the category of 33 to 50 percent damage, grant assistance will be given at per hectare rate of Rs 8000 for rain based crops, Rs 15000 for irrigated crop, Rs 18000 for perennial (if damage in less than six months) crop, Rs 20000 for perennial (if damage after over six months) and Rs 26000 for vegetable, spices and Isabgol farming and Rs 6000 for sericulture (Eri, Mulberry and Tussar) and Rs 7500 per hectare for Mung.

 In case of more than 50 percent crop damage, grant assistance will be given at per hectare rate of Rs 16000 for rain based crops, Rs 30000 for irrigated crop, Rs 30000 for perennial (if damage in less than six months), Rs 30000 for perennial (if damage after over six months) and Rs 30000 for vegetable, spices and Isabgol farming and Rs 12000 for sericulture (Eri, Mulberry and Tussar) and Rs 15000 for Mung.

 This assistance will be given at per hectare rate of Rs 4500 for rain based crops, Rs 6500 for irrigated crop, Rs 6500 for perennial (if damage in less than six months), Rs 12000 for perennial (if damage after over six months) and Rs 14000 for vegetable, spices and Isabgol farming to farmers having more than two hectare land and different from small and marginal farmers for damage of crop from 25 to 33 percent.

 For 33 to 50 percent damage of crop, the grant assistance will be Rs 6800 for rain based crops, Rs 13500 for irrigated crop, Rs 18000 for perennial (if damage in less than six months) crop, Rs 18000 for perennial (if damage after over six  months) and Rs 18000 per hectare for vegetable, spices and Isabgol farming.

 In case of more than 50 percent damage of crop, the grant assistance will be given Rs 13600 for rain based crops, Rs 27000 for irrigated crop, Rs 30000 for perennial (if damage in less than six months) crop, Rs 30000 for perennial (if damage after over six  months) and Rs 30000 per hectare for vegetable, spices and Isabgol farming.

 Other provisions of Revenue Book Code section 6, no 4, annexure I, will remain effective apart from the above amendments.-Window To News
