Electricity Connections provided to over 10 lakh houses through Soubhagya Yojana

Bhopal: Better results have emerged from the ‘Soubhagya Yojana” in the state now. A total of 10 lakh one thousand 663 houses have been illuminated in the state by providing electricity connections under the scheme. A target to provide electricity connections to 35 lakh houses has been set by October this year under the scheme. Electricity connections are being provided to all the houses on the initiative of the Union and State government in the state. The connections are being provided easily by all the 3 power distribution companies in the state.
All the 3 power distribution companies and their entire team are actively working for the implementation of Soubhagya Yojana. The Madhya Pradesh Eastern Area Power Distribution Company has been given target to provide electricity connections to 15 lakh 7 thousand 20 electricity less houses of 20 districts in its area. The company has linked 3 lakh 6 thousand 332 houses with the electricity connections so far. Similarly, the Madhya Pradesh Central Area Power Distribution Company has connected 4 lakh 41 thousand 704 houses of 16 districts with electricity connections against the electrification target of 18 lakh 55 thousand 325. In the same way, the Western Area Power Distribution Company has provided electricity connections to 2 lakh 53 thousand 627 houses of 15 districts against the target of 7 lakh 16 thousand 189 electricity less houses.
Under the Soubhagya Yojana, 60 percent amount is being provided by the union government in the form of grant, the remaining 40 percent amount is being arranged by the state government and the 3 power distribution companies. Free connections are being provided to socio-economic backward beneficiaries under the schemes. The amount of Rs. 500 will be taken from other beneficiaries in 10 installments with the monthly electricity bill.-Window To News
