Commissioners, IGs, Collectors, SPs will review Law and Order every Monday: CM Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that State Law Commission will be constituted to give suggestions for implementation of new laws and for amendments or abolishing irrelevant laws by examining them. He mentioned that a cabinet sub-committee will be formed for issues related to internal security.

Chouhan was addressing the concluding session of 2 day workshop held on the subject ‘ Law and order and Role of Police in Future besides Challenges’ at Madhya Pradesh Police Training Academy here today.

Chouhan laid emphasis on the need for good governance, better citizen services and monitoring of law and order. He gave instructions to review law and order every Monday to monitor its status and to make essential preparations at state, division and district level by assessing the probability of crime in advance. At the state level, the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Additional Chief Secretary Home and concerned Senior Officer will review the law and order under the Chairmanship of the Home Minister. Divisional Commissioners and Inspectors General of Police will review law and order at divisional level and District Collectors and S.Ps at district level respectively.

CM Chouhan said that the better management of law and order is the priority of the state government. Police administration should make efforts to give best results by properly using the available resources. He further stated that beat should be strengthened for better law and order in every district.

Moreover, the Chief Minister said that evaluation will be made to give risk allowance to the jawans of district police of those districts, where risk allowance is paid specially to the police force posted there. Youth of tribal communities will be encouraged to join police force. He stated that evaluation will be made to take back the ordinary criminal cases registered against the tribal community by taking initiative to establish their dignity and respect. Cooperation of police administration will be taken in campaigns to be conducted to provide pattas to the tribal community.

The chief Minister further said that vigilance should be maintained over such unauthorized persons, who give loans to poor and harass them to recover loans. He mentioned that responsibility of police in development works and to ensure participation will be taken into consideration.

He said that in order to boost the morale of police officers and employees, promotion through qualifying competitive examination will also be taken into consideration. While giving directives to the police officers and employees for essential health checkups once a year, Chouhan said that the responsibility for this will be entrusted to the district superintendents of police. He said that police housing scheme will be continued at any cost.

Cyber Lab at every district: Expressing concern over the digital crimes, Chouhan said that a cyber lab will be established at every district. Efforts will be made to post cyber police team in every district. He mentioned that there is a need to highlight the public welfare works of the police before the society. Socail media should be used in this connection. Chouhan stated that a cyber dome will be started at Bhopal and Indore and cooperation of cyber experts will be taken in this regard.

Mukhya Mantri Internal Security Center: CM Chouhan said that Mukhya Mantri Internal Security center will be established at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, Bhopal. This center will study various issues and aspects related to internal security and give suggestions. He further mentioned that provisions of the proposed public security law will be studied so that the provision can be implemented effectively. Chouhan said that keeping in view the increase in urban population constantly and challenges emerged for law and order, deliberations should be made for new policing arrangements.

At the inaugural session, CM Chouhan said that control on crimes against women is the top most priority of the state government. He mentioned that campaign should be conducted in the entire state to remove fear among the girls. Action should be taken with the cooperation of positive persons against the forces, which are involved for creating divisions in the society.

Take Strict against persons running Hookah Bars: The Chief Minister said that everyone have to work together to make the society and nation strong. Work for removal of the problems faced by the weaker and backward class of the society by making concrete strategy. Generate awareness among the people to protect them from chitfund fraud and take strict action against the fraudsters. Prepare a policy in the department to encourage persons, who have undertaken brave works. Make intensive efforts for de-addiction. Generate awareness among the youth about the ill effects of addiction. Take strict action against the persons, who are running hookah bars.

Presentations on different subjects like Naxalism control, social harmony and division, de-addiction, internal security, police competency, crime control, crime against women, cyber security and dacoits’ eradication were given by the various groups of police officers during the workshop. Various groups presented their recommendations. It was informed in the workshop that 12 thousand persons have been recruited in the police force during the last year. Fourteen thousand people are being recruited this year. A total of 38 thousand houses are being constructed under the Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana.
