Conduct joint campaign to protect children from malnutrition: Governor Smt. Patel

Bhopal: The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel, while reviewing schemes of the Tribal Affairs department at Rajbhavan today said that officers of all the departments with mutual coordination should conduct a special campaign to protect children from malnutrition. Responsibilities of all the officers should be fixed during the campaign. She mentioned that we can only eradicate malnutrition, when all the departments would link with the campaign. The governor said that special camps should be organized and health checkup of the children should be conducted in presence of the parents. Parents should be apprised about the remedies to overcome the weakness of the children and medicines.

Moreover, Smt. Patel said that special attention should be paid to utilize the amount received from the central government properly and its benefit should reach the tribal within time. She mentioned that good education and culture should be given to the students of tribal community and to ensure employment oriented training arrangements for them. Officers of the department should coordinate with industrial institutes and companies for training to youth of tribal community in to facilitate employment. Students of this community should be encouraged to study science besides other subjects. Efforts should be made for admission of at least 20 percent of the students in science faculty from each block. Students should be taken on tour of various enlightening places and children should be told to write articles based on their experiences after the tour to boost their self-confidence.

Attracting attention towards the shortage of teachers in rural and tribal areas, the Governor said that a recruitment examination should be conducted at one place. Teachers should be posted on the basis of merit and houses should also be provided to the teachers in rural and tribal areas.

The Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs department S.N. Mishra informed the Governor in detail about the activities of the department. Principal Secretary to the Governor Dr. M. Mohan Rao and Commissioner of the department Smt. Deepali Rastogi besides senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.-Window To News
