Farmers will get full reward and respect for their hard work: CM Chouhan

Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during the Kisan sabha held under the Kisan Samman Yatra in Morena district said that farmers will get full reward and respect for their hard work. He made an announcement to waive off weapons’ license renewal fee. Chouhan also honoured farmers on the occasion.

CM Chouhan stated that the state was honoured with the Krishi Karman award five times in a row due to the hard work of the farmers. How can the state prospers and happy without happiness of the farmers. He mentioned that state has 40 lakh hectare irrigation capacity at present and a target to provide irrigation facility on 80 lakh hectare area by 2025 has been set. The Chief Minister further stated that the state government has implemented several schemes to provide reasonable rates to the farmers for their produce. He informed that a state level committee has been constituted to decide the rates of the crops. Moreover, an agriculture produce export agency is being made to export agriculture produce.

Chouhan expressed that the farmers will be compensated for their loss by the state government. A financial relief of Rs. 30 thousand per hectare will be given to farmer in case of over 50 percent damage to crop. Farmers holding less than 2.5 acre land have also been included under the Asangathit Shramik Kalyan Yojana. The government is with the farmers for the development of Chambal region. Water of Chambal canal is being supplied to the entire Chambal region. Chambal express way is being constructed for the prosperity of chambal’s ravines. In addition to this, efforts are being made for army recruitment in Chambal region. Chouhan mentioned that the Kisan Samman Yatra is being undertaken with an objective to provide full benefit to the farmers for their hard work and to make agriculture a profitable occupation. The yatra will cover all the assembly constituencies of the state and will honour farmers.

Farmers will get Rs. 200 for previous year: The Chief Minister said that an amount of Rs. 200 per quintal will be deposited in the bank accounts of the registered farmers of previous year also. Information through SMS will be given to the farmers. Farmers can get bank account numbers amended, in case of any change in their bank accounts. Amount will be presented to the farmers on April 16, he added.
Rs 265 to be given under Kisan Samriddhi Yojana: Chouhan said that incentive of Rs 265 per quintal will be given under Kisan Samriddhi Yojana to farmers. If any farmer sells wheat on the support price in Mandi, the incentive will be given to him.

 Due date of short-term crop loan now is 27 April: The Chief Minister said that due date of the short-term crop loan given on zero percent interest rate by Primary Agricultural Credit Co-operative Societies in Kharif year 2017 has been increased from 28 March to 27 April. This decision has been taken keeping in the mind the interests of the farmers. He said that the youth engaged in agriculture should set up food processing industry. For this, the government will arrange loans from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 2 crore. The government will given guarantee for the loan. Fifteen percent grant will be given under the scheme and interest will be paid by the government for seven years.

 Union Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that people used to quote Punjab and Haryana first for wheat production before the year 2003. Today Madhya Pradesh has become number one in the country in this sector. MP Nand Kumar Chouhan addressed the function.

On the occasion, district in-charge Smt Maya Singh, Health Minister Rustam Singh, Minister of State for General Administration Lal Singh Arya, Mayor Ashok Argal, District Panchayat President Smt Geeta Harshana, MP Bhagirath Prasad, MLA Satyapal Singh Sikarwar, Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Subedar Singh Rajedhauda, Durgalal Vijay, Narendra Singh Kushwaha, Former Minister Munshilal, organization secretary, Shailendra Barua, state general secretary BD Sharma, State Organizational Secretary Subhash Bharat, public representatives and farmers and rural people were present in large number.

Kisan Samman Yatra received: Chief Minister Chouhan received Kisan Samman Yatra near Morena on Agra-Mumbai National Highway. Thereafter, farmers reached at the Kisan Sammelan venue. The Yatra, started from Baldau Mandir of Mathura, reached Morena.-Window To News
