All Party Meeting Held to hold Loksabha-Vidhansabha elections together

Bhopal: A second meeting of the state level committee of Madhya Pradesh Government, to deliberate on conducting Loksabha-Vidhansabha elections simultaneously held under the chairmanship of the Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Narottam Mishra in the committee room of Vidhansabha today. Representatives of various political parties also participated in the meeting today. The state level committee will hold meetings in other divisions of the state too to obtain views of different sections of the society on this important issue. This process for deliberations will be continued and a decision has been taken to hold next meeting of the state level committee at Indore on April 11.

Chairman of the Committee Dr. Narottam Mishra said that all the states have different opinion to hold Laksabha and Vidhansabha elections together.

Suggestions were received in this connection during the previous meeting of the state committee. After obtaining the views of different political parties in today’s meeting, suggestions will be obtained during the meetings to be held at major cities of the state. Only then we can arrive at any conclusion. Dr. Mishra described the suggestions of the representatives of the political parties, who attended the meeting today as important. He stated that views from legal experts, thinkers, media representatives, social activists, public representatives and common man will be obtained, which will become the foundation of the committee’s report.

Member of the Committee, the Senior Journalist Mahesh Shrivastva has said that suggestions can be obtained in the form of format from small cities and towns by using means of information and technology. Members of the committee Tapan Bhoumic, the Chairman of M.P. Tourism Development Corporation, Social Activist Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Narmada Valley Development department Shri Rajnish Vaish and Retired I.A.S. Officer S.N. Rupla were present in the meeting. Moreover, J.P. Dhanopiya of Congress, Rajaram of Bahujan Samaj Party, Yash Yadav of Samajvadi Party, Shailendra Shaili of Communist Party of India, Pramod Pradhan of Communist Party of India (M) and Dushyant of Aam Aadmi Party were present in today’s meeting.

The Principal Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs department and coordinator of the committee Smt. Veera Rana has informed that we all aware that as a result of continues elections in the country and due to the code of conduct, the development works and public services get obstructed. A large sum of governments and political parties are spent on elections. During the last Loksabha election, services of 11 employees per polling center were taken at an average for 9 lakh 30 thousand polling centers. Services of total 10 million employees were taken by the Election Commission of India. Besides this, over 1300 companies of Central police force were posted. Solution to these problems can be obtained from phase wise election.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has nominated the Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs as Chairman of the state level committee. The committee was formed in the first week of March. Madhya Pradesh is the first state of the country, which has moved ahead to hold this discussion process on this important subject in an organised manner.
