Foreign Minister Smt. Swaraj meets public representatives of Vidisha district
Bhopal: Foreign Minister and MP from Vidisha Parliamentary constituency Smt. Sushma Swaraj has said that public representatives will have to make coordinated efforts to make Vidisha top in all areas and not just in education, health and women and child development. Smt. Swaraj was reviewing the activities of education, health and women and child development in Vidisha district at her Bhopal residence today. Those present in the all-party meeting were MP Laxminarayan Yadav, MLAs Sarvashri Kalyan Singh, Veer Singh Panwar, Nishank Jain besides district panchayat president, Nagar Palika president, Janpad panchayat presidents, Principal Secretaries of education, health and women and child development departments and Vidisha District Collector etc.
Smt. Swaraj said that government is not short of funds to implement the schemes but still people are not able to avail the benefits of the schemes as the schemes are not being constantly monitored. She said that there is need for micro management for the development of the area. There should be three-tier monitoring system. Panch-sarpanch should monitor the working of education, health and anganwadi workers in the villages. In urban areas, this work should be done by the corporator and in the district level, MLAs and MPs should do the monitoring.
Foreign Minister Smt. Swaraj said that a picture of the teacher teaching in that particular school must be put up. During inspection, public representatives and concerned officers should gather information about the teacher from the children. If the teacher does not attend class, action will be taken against him/her. Attendance of doctors in primary health centres and ANM in rural areas must be assured. Steps essential to improve health services in rural areas should be taken.
Smt. Swaraj urged all public representatives to collect information about the implementation of schemes in the villages during their visits to their areas and also apprise her with the information.-Window To News
