Center approves procurement of Red Lentil and Mustard on MSP under Rabi

Bhopal: An approval for procurement of red lentil and mustard in the state on minimum support price under the price support scheme for Rabi season 2017-18 has been received from the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Development department. According to the approval, procurement of these two produce will start from April 10 and will continue for the next 60 days.

Maximum 3 lakh 90 thousand 400 metric ton mustard and one lakh 36 thousand 808 metric tone red lentil will be procured in the state by the central agencies. Arrangement at large scale has been made by the state government in krishi upaj mandis besides procurement centers for the convenience of the farmers.

Directives have been issued by the Union Ministry of Agriculture to NAFED, Food Corporation of India and S.F.A.C. for procurement on support price. The Principal Secretary Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Dr. Rajesh Rajora has informed that a target for gram procurement is expected from the Union Government within a day or two.
