Bhopal: Minister for Commerce and Industry Rajendra Shukla said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the fast developing economy of the country. He said that Madhya Pradesh has displayed best in this sector during the last three years. He further mentioned that Indore is the commercial and economic capital of Madhya Pradesh. Non agriculture products, pharmaceuticals, auto components, chemical and garments are being exported from Indore in huge quantity. Therefore, special initiative should be taken to establish air cargo at Indore. Minister Shukla was addressing the meeting of Trade Promotion and Development Council at New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitaraman.  Minister Shukla mentioned that Madhya Pradesh has been given 5th position in the ranking of Ease of Doing Business Study -2016 by the World Bank. Madhya Pradesh has termed as best performing state in the last three years in the 15 big states of the country in the report of private credit rating agency Ambit capital. He said that the statistics of GDP of the union and state governments indicates that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the path of development. The average growth rate is more than 10 percent in the last two years. As per the presumptions of 2015-16, 8.86 percent increase is estimated in the manufacturing sector of Madhya Pradesh. He informed that increase was estimated as 5.73 percent in the presumptions of the last year. The state has achieved around 20 percent agriculture growth rate performing best in the agriculture sector. Shukla further mentioned that Industry Promotion Policy -2014 has been implemented for the development of industries in the state. Moreover, Defense Equipments Production policy has been approved to encourage investment in defense sector and special financial facilities have been approved for food processing industry. He said that Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Land and Building Management Rule-2015 has been implemented in the state to provide government land easily to the investors. He further said that products worth 4.1 billion U.S. dollars were exported from Madhya Pradesh in the year 2015. Five Inland Container depot have been established to compensate the non availability of seaports in the state. Several positive steps have been taken for skill development in the state.-WTN
