Forest Minister Dr. Shejwar Participates in Narmada Seva Yatra at Ghat Pipariya
Bhopal : Minister for Forest, Planning, Economics and Statistics Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar along with his wife participated in Narmada Seva Yatra at Ghat Pipariya (Mahadev Pipariya). Addressing the Jan-Sanvad programme, Dr. Shejwar said that do not let the pious water of Maa Narmada get polluted. Do not undertake any work which impure Narmada water. Narmada River is a lifeline of our state. Narmada not only provides water but our social, economic and cultural activities are dependent mainly on Narmada River. Fruit and umbrageous plantation should be undertaken in the radius of one kilometer on both the banks of the river to maintain incessant flow of Narmada. He further mentioned that the forest department will undertake plantation on forest and government land. Farmers which will undertake plantation at their private land will be provided financial assistance of Rs. 20 thousand per hectare for three years. Dr. Shejwar mentioned that Narmada Seva Yatra has become public movement. Awareness towards environment and water conservation is increasing by this yatra. Sadhu-Sants and Dharmacharyas are explaining the importance of environment to the common people and inspiring them towards environment improvement. Chairman Madhya Pradesh Gou Sanvardhan Board Swami Akhileshwaranand Maharaj said that we all have to make efforts together to conserve Narmada water. We should also not undertake works even unintentionally to pollute Narmada. It is necessary to use toilets in villages situated on the banks of Narmada River. No one should go for open defecation and constant awareness should be created for this. He further mentioned that it is a matter of immense pleasure that all the villages of Narsinghpur district situated on the banks of River Narmada have been declared free from open defecation. Forest Minister Dr. Shejwar after performing poojan of Narmada Seva Flag and Kalash inaugurated the programme. He also planted a sapling at Narmada bank of Mahadev Pipariya. Nukkad natak focusing Narmada water, environment conservation and sanitation was presented by the students of various schools. A message of sanitation was given through cultural presentations and songs in the programme. Dr. Shejwar along with the villagers inspected the path of Narmada seva yatra. People with enthusiasm participated in the yatra and raised slogans towards conservation of environment and water. Dr. Shejwar holding yatra’s flag and MLA Jalam Singh Patel holding yatra’s kalash participated on foot in the yatra. Villagers showered flowers and performed pooja archana at several places to welcome the yatra. Sant Balak Ji Maharaj of Gadarwara Khirka Temple, Kamaldas Tyagi Ji Maharaj, Sadhvi Yoga Maya, MLA Jalam Singh Patel, Former Vice Chairman of APEX Bank Kailash Soni, President Janpad Panchayat Narsinghpur Smt. Anuradha Patel, Chairman Janpad Panchayat Gotegaon Santosh Dubey, Former MLA Hakam Singh Chadhar and villagers were present on the occasion. -WTN
