Inauguration of “Vishwarupam” Exhibition in Gurukul Sammelan at Ujjain

Bhopal: Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar lighting a lamp before the statue of Maharishi Sandipani inaugurated “Vishwarupam” exhibition today at International Virat Gurkul Sammelan held in Mahahrishi Sandipani Ved Vidhya Pratishthan at Ujjain. Students of the gurukul welcomed the guests by showering flowers amidst chants of Vedic mantras.
Gurukul system has been effectively displayed in the exhibition. Batuks (Brahmin youth) who came from various gurukuls of the country have displayed gurukul system in its original form. The gurukul educational tradition came to life by watching the gurukul of the forest area and by seeing Brahmin youth chanting mantras after receiving education from the Acharya under the shade of Banyan tree. Students were also displaying the art of classical music education provided in the gurukul. Besides this, the students, expert of painting were painting the picture of guru – shishya tradition in the nearby tent.
Khadi garments, poojan material and special utensils of copper and wood made by the gurukuls have been displayed at various stalls in the exhibition. Moreover, products made by self-help group such as Ayurvedic medicines, pro-healthy tea prepared from organic elements, Chayavanprash, garments of muslin khadi made from organic cotton, utensils of terracotta and clay besides books based on ancient Indian culture and Vedas are available at various stalls for purchase.
