Five Lakh residential units to be constructed in urban areas this year:Minister Smt. Maya Singh

Bhopal: Minister for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Maya Singh has said that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state of the country in implementation of Madhya Pradesh “Housing Guarantee Act” to give shape to the concept of Housing for all. The state government has set a target to construct 5 lakh residential units in urban areas of the state in the year 2018. Possessions of houses to 75 thousand beneficiaries have already been given under the scheme.

Minister Smt. Singh has informed that 10 lakh houses will be completed till 2022 in the urban areas. Target and time bound programme has been ensured for each urban body. At present 4 lakh 45 thousand 721 E.W.S., 47 thousand 91 L.I.G. and 18 thousand 418 M.I.G. houses have been approved in 378 urban bodies. Out of this, construction of over 2 lakh houses has already been started. Moreover, 75 thousand complete houses have been handed over to the beneficiaries.

Furthermore, Smt. Singh has said that the land free of cost has been provided by the state government for Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana. Pattas are being given to urban poor, who are dwelling on the government land in urban areas till December-2014 by conducting a campaign. By continuing the same course, house costing over Rs. 5 lakh under the Affordable Housing in Partnership is being provided by Madhya Pradesh government to the beneficiaries of economically weaker section on capital share of just Rs. 2 lakh.

An amount of Rs. 2 lakh 50 thousand is being made available to plot holders and to the patta holders of the government land in urban areas under the Beneficiary Led ‘Individual House’ Construction (BLC) component scheme. A total of 3 lakh 2 thousand 859 residences have been approved under the scheme and out of these 25 thousand have been completed.-Window To News
