Contribution of Madhya Pradesh in nation-building to be maximum

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the biggest contribution towards building a new India will be of Madhya Pradesh. There is a clear vision of development in Madhya Pradesh and work on the roadmap is in progress in a proper manner. Villages and cities will be made smart. Farmers’ income will be doubled. State government is undertaking works including increasing the income of the poor, optimization of cottage industries and trade and making employment available in tourism. He said that the results of positive efforts of the government can now be seen at the ground level also. CM Chouhan was addressing the “Naya Aasman, Nai Udan” programme here today. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Radhamohan Singh also took part in the programme. Chouhan released Coffee Table Books on Namami Devi Narmade and Agriculture on the occasion.

CM Chouhan said that the state government has taken an innovative initiative of social, economic, academic and spiritual development by adopting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s basic mantra of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas”. Efforts are being made to develop a spiritual atmosphere along with the development of basic amenities. Referring to a ramshackle Madhya Pradesh inherited by the state government he said that our government has completed work on the state’s infrastructure development at a fast pace. About 1.5 lakh kilometre roads have been constructed in the state. Villages now have 24x7 power supply. Irrigation facility was available only in 7.5 lakh hectare are in the state but in one and a half decades the irrigation area has grown to 40 lakh hectare. Chouhan said that this area will be further increased to 80 lakh hectare. The Chief Minister told that the state government has undertaken development works in the state through public participation to maintain equanimity between the environment conservation and the society.

Chouhan said that the state government is working on the model of poverty eradication as per the Gareeb Kalyan Agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Improved implementation of Mukhya Mantri Jankalyan Yojana “Sambal” has been ensured. Apart from making cheap foodgrain, free treatment, free education, land available for the poor, the state government always stands with the poor under all circumstances. He told that respectable salaries have been ensured for teachers to ensure better education system. Referring to the centralised system for quality education, the Chief Minister said that the best amenities of lab, library, teacher besides a unique school is being started in Betul. About 5 thousand children from nearby areas will reach the school to study. He said that the experiment will be further

extended in the state once its success is ensured. He said that if people like it, “Bada Gaon Bada School” system will replace small schools.

Centre should help in getting G.I. tag for M.P. paddy

CM Chouhan congratulated Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Radhamohan Singh for determining Support Price after adding 50 percent of the cost of the produce for the conservation of the interests of the farmers. Chouhan said that the state government has made ten times more loan available to the farmers on zero percent interest. Efforts have been made to provide power on flat rate, advance storage of foodgrain, expansion of irrigation facilities and adequate relief in times of emergency. Apart from Support Price, wheat producing farmers have been provided additional incentive of Rs 265. This is the reason why the state has surpassed Punjab and Haryana state in wheat production today. The Chief Minister said that more than 11 lakh quintal gram has been purchased on Support Price in the state. CM Chouhan has appealed to the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Singh to increase the maximum limit of gram due to its bumper production and urged the Centre to support in acquiring G.I. tag to paddy of Madhya Pradesh.

Story of development through figures

Giving information about the figures of development in the state in the last one and a half decade Chouhan said that the per capita income during this period has increased from Rs 15 thousand 442 to 79 thousand 909. Power production has increased from 2900 MW to 18 thousand 364 MW. Roads have been developed from 45 thousand kilometres to 95 thousand kilometres. Primary schools have grown from 55 thousand 980 to 83 thousand 890, middle schools from 12 thousand 490 to 30 thousand 341, High Schools from 1704 to 4 thousand 740 and Higher Secondary Schools from 1517 to 3815. He said that earlier one would get an amount of Rs 8 crore 77 lakhs under crop insurance scheme which has now grown to Rs 1886 crore from this year.
