Need for cropwise macronutrients, micronutrients and fertilizers cropwise has been analysed after soil testing of the samples of 23 lakh 19 thousand grid-based soil from 88.72 lakh agricultural fields in the state under the soil health card programme. Sample testing work is currently being undertaken in 50 soil testing labs of the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Department. Besides this, soil testing work is being undertaken in 28 soil testing labs in the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Agriculture University of the state. As many as 26 labs transferred to the Agriculture Department from State Agriculture Marketing Board is being strengthened from the technical point of view.
The facility of testing the micronutrients of soil is available in laboratories. The state government has approved 265 new soil testing laboratories to make the facility of soil testing available in 313 development blocks. The construction of the buildings for these laboratories is in progress. A campaign for immediate testing of the soil samples through mini labs for testing of the soil in fields has also been launched to facilitate farmers. The analytical results of the soil samples collected from the fields of farmers is also being uploaded on the centre’s soil health card portal.-Window To News
