State becomes no 1 in skill up-gradation in country

Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh should become no 1 in skill up-gradation in the country. Youths from the state should get more and more employment in the jobs available in the state and country.  Chouhan was chairing the general body meeting of vocational education and training council at Mantralaya. Minister of state for technical and skill development  Deepak Joshi and Chief Secretary  BP Singh were present in the meeting.
 
Underling a need for balance between demand and supply, Chief Minister  Chouhan said that there is need of arrangement for multi-purpose vocational training. Effective management is required for providing skilled persons, after studying the industries need for personnel. He asked to make the world class training arrangements and curriculum in industrial training institutes. He said that study should be undertaken in excellent private institutes conducting training programmes. Their positive participation can be taken in skill up-gradation programme . He sought a report on status of employment provided to participants in training programmes being run by the council. He instructed to make integrated different training programmes of government departments under the council.
 
It was informed that Global Skill Summit will be organised in April. Earmarking of needs of skilled labourers in industries, agreements for intention to employment would be made in the summit. It has been decided that Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development Mission would be constituted changing the structure of vocational education and training council. It was informed in the meeting that the department has prepared a wide programme for skill up-gradation. Target has been set to impart training to 7.5 lakh persons this year. Training has been imparted to 2.68 lakh persons in last six years by vocational training providers. The state is the first in holding online examinations of ITIs.
